You can control notifications at both the individual conversation level and globally across the app.


Mute notifications for a conversation

  1. Open the conversation you want to mute.
  2. Click or tap the bell icon in the top right of the conversation.
  3. Select your preferred notification setting:
    • All messages — receive a notification for every message.
    • Mentions only — only receive notifications when you are directly mentioned.
    • Mute — choose how long to mute notifications: For 30 minutes, For an hour, For 2 hours, Until 9 AM tomorrow, or Until I turn it back on.


Note: Muting a conversation will not hide unread message badges in the sidebar.


Mute all notifications (Do Not Disturb)

  1. Click or tap the menu icon in the top right of the app.
  2. Select your status and choose Do Not Disturb — Mute all notifications.
  3. Choose how long to enable Do Not Disturb: For 30 minutes, For an hour, For 2 hours, Until 9 AM tomorrow, or Custom.
    • If you select Custom, pick a date and time for notifications to resume and click or tap Pause.


Note: When Do Not Disturb is active, a red dot will appear on your status indicator.
