You can send SMS and MMS messages to contacts with a phone number directly from the phone. SMS messages are text only, while MMS messages can include images or videos.


Start from your contacts

  1. Click or tap Contacts in the top navigation bar.
  2. Find and select the contact you want to message.
  3. Click or tap the SMS button on the contact card.
  4. This will open an SMS conversation in the Chats section.


Start from Chats

  1. Click or tap Chats in the top navigation bar.
  2. Click or tap the + icon next to Direct Messages to start a new conversation.
  3. Search for a contact by name, email, or phone number and select them.
  4. Type your message and press Enter to send.


Note: You can only send SMS and MMS messages to existing contacts with a phone number on file.


Send an image or video (MMS)

In an SMS conversation, you can attach images or videos to your message. Larger files will be automatically reduced in size before sending.


Note: SMS and MMS conversations are labelled (SMS) next to the contact's name at the top of the conversation so you can easily distinguish them from regular chat conversations.
